The interesting question is at the end of the post. Imagine Twitter licenses the firehose to Google, how much should they charge for it ? What is the value ?
"A real time feed of Twitter posts would negate much of the head start Twitter has in the nascent real time search space. It would be a coup for Google to get the Twitter milk without having to buy the cow. The real question is, does Twitter fully understand the value of this feed?"
Today we had a heated debate with @alardw on the difference between house and techno. We were wondering if there was a scientific definition based on beat patterns. The answer seems to be no, although the debate is not closed yet ;-)
Alard just sent me this fantastic guide to electronic dance music. So, if you ever wondered what was the difference between speed garage and 2-step garage, this is the place where to look !
As for me, well, I love all forms of EDM, but you would usually find me more often in the Funk blob of the House page. Typically lingering between the disco house and the french touch. Yes... Dimitri from Paris is my man :-)
Looks really cool, just wonder if it is usable on the long run. I'll have a go at the downloadable demo. Below is the presentation video so you can get a feel.
"a gorgeous desktop application that transforms the desktop from a cold, vertical interface into a dynamic 3-dimensional room that makes not only organizing files easy, but browsing images, writing notes, and even updating your Twitter, Facebook, and email."
This one is a superb mashup, you'd almost believe that these 8 artists were sitting in the same room. You'll hear: Green Day, Jack Johnson, Josh Rouse, Joshua Radin, Wyclef, Chrisina Aguilera, Atomic Kitten and the Black Eyed Peas. (via mashuptown.com)
Besides that, the post is absolutely spot on. There is a real opportunity for value creation in this gap between early adopters and the 'real' business.
