I saw your post there but didn't read the comments yet, but since I was thinking about that we can follow your updates by RSS from and probably someone else had this idea already, but Iit must easy to make a system that is self hosted that syndicates feeds from others so that you have a FB/G+/Twitter/whatever like timeline and in the same time permits to update your status/blog/note/photo/video which is put in an RSS feed and pushed to your followers. You can use private/public key system to restrict access to your content. It's a bit more complicated than open a FB account, but for those who already have a domain name or if hoster offer this, it can become a nice feature. Let's built this and get it buzzed :-)

Well, that's exactly what this site is. It syndicates my content from third party providers and also allows me to push my content there. In Indieweb terminology we call this PESOS and POSSE. Then I can use my site to follow and comment on other people sites (using indieweb webmentions).

The only part missing is the private messages, but we are working on it.

For more details, and other implementations, have a look at

You can also see the indieweb replies I have received on this page:

Will look into this a bit deeper now :-)
But how to you follow your friends? Do you still log into every application or do you have a page which syndicates the updates of the one you follow?

Yes, I need a client to consume data from third party silos. But in practice it is just a twitter client, I'm no longer active on the other networks. And as more and more friends join the indieweb, one day I can drop my twitter client for good.
